Hello, I’m so glad you stopped by!
My name is Jen. I live in Northern WI with my 2 dogs and earn my living as a mental health counselor. It’s been a journey but I feel so very blessed to be here, where I grew up, among the lakes, woods and 4 seasons! I enjoy traveling, making art and gifts, drinking coffee with friends, spending time with family, listening to books, being outside with my dogs and capturing moments of beauty that make me marvel at God’s handiwork.
In December 2000 I earned my BA from Bethel College in MN and in the Spring of 2003 my MA from Notre Dame de Namur University in CA. Since then I have obtained dual licensure in WI for Art Therapy and Professional Counseling. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with, and learn from, some incredible people about how God transforms and redeems!
I’ve been toying with the idea of a blog for 3 years and decided to give it a really legit shot this year (for more on this, check out “My Why” and “Welcome”) so I enrolled in a class. What you see developing here is the result of that. Thank you Jeff Goins and all those enrolled at Intentional Blog for your encouragement and help.
With this blog I’m working to create a space for conversation, encouragement and pondering together. A place where we can be honest with our struggles and doubts, but not let them block us from finding truth and beauty.
To begin with, I plan to post 1-2 new full posts a month. I will also keep a growing “Inspiration” section with very short summaries/introductions to websites, videos, books etc that are proving to be encouraging or helpful as I sort through questions. From time to time, new tabs will appear to help keep things organized so it’s easy to find what you’re most interested in.
I would love to have you join me on this journey. Please email me with questions that we could ponder together, helpful resources we could share, and with stories, photos and art that inspire and give witness to God’s hand in this world.
Thank you again for stopping by. I hope you’ll visit again soon!
